Recently, our client came to us wanting to organise a team-building event for a small group of employees. They were looking for an activity that could provide a rewarding experience while also allowing them to give back to the local community. Chill Out! was able to come up with several suggestions to fit their brief but the perfect solution for them was the Cook for Good (C4G) social enterprise. The C4G enterprise has a fully equipped industrial kitchen, suitable for up to 18 people to come together and cook a three-course meal. During this activity, the team must work collectively to prepare 50 additional portions of the meal. These extra portions are then packaged up and donated to those who visit the C4G Pantry for their weekly discounted shopping.
The Cook for Good model hit the brief perfectly. They were flexible on timings and were also able to cater to differing dietary requirements for those attending. There was a large selection of themed menus to choose from and our client went for a Japanese cooking experience.
We received such great feedback from the attendees – they had an amazing time! There was a great atmosphere in the kitchen, and it brought everyone together.
Upon arrival, the chefs arrived and were given their tall, white chef hats and aprons, along with a health and safety briefing. They allocated roles and followed a recipe to ensure the dishes tasted good and were ready on time. They learned new skills and made dishes they hadn’t cooked before in a fun and relaxed environment.
Afterwards, the team of chefs sat down to enjoy the meal they had cooked and then packed up the 50 portions of food to distribute in the Pantry the following day.
Chill Out was able to successfully address all the requirements of the client’s brief. We conducted thorough research and suggested a variety of activities, and then managed all aspects of the pre-event organisation. On the day of the event, one of our skilled event managers efficiently coordinated the group, ensuring that all participants were able to fully enjoy and relax during the experience.
We'll take great care of your events. If you have an event you care about, we'd love to hear from you.
